GeoPlaNet SP
A consortium of 5 European Universities (universities of Coimbra and Porto in Portugal, universities Gabriele d’Annunzio in Chieti/Pescara and Padova in Italy, and Nantes Université in France) and a start-up (VR2Planets, Nantes, France), was created in 2016, with the aim to promote research, education and training in Planetary Geosciences at an international level. The consortium is coordinated by the Nantes Université.
This Partnership benefits from the strong support of the GeoPlanet Consortium and start-ups specialised in Space Instrumentation as Associated Partners.
Main pursued goals:
- structuring and internationalising research and training
- strengthing excellence in Geoplanetary Sciences
- increasing cooperation among partners and with industry and private companies
- providing multidisciplinary environment

The extended GeoPlaNet consortium.
Within the GeoPlaNet Erasmus + Strategic Partnership funded project, the consortium proposed a program of activities for 2020-2023 to promote the discussion around Planetary Geosciences and prepare a new related Erasmus Mundus master program.

Training by research the next generation of planetary scientists and experts in space missions
The consortium won the application for a new Erasmus Mundus Joint Master program, EMJM-GeoPlaNet, starting on September 2023, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.
The EMJM GeoPlaNet will fund 15 scholarships every year during four editions, as well as guest scholar activities.
